TOUR OVERVIEW




Arusha National Park encompasses Mt. Meru, which is the 2nd highest mountain in Tanzania and the 3rd highest freestanding mountain in Africa. There are dramatic variations in scenery, open savannah, dense forest and thick bush, impressive craters and many lakes. Furthermore, there are 5 distinct vegetation zones which host a wealth of flora and fauna.

TOUR ITINERARY

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Arusha National Park gate (Ngongongare Gate) where you will meet with horses and guides, and starting your ride. Your highlights of your ride will be close and private encounters with the animals, fantastic scenery, hidden paths through the forest only accessible by horse and riding time normally vary, usually 4-6 hours daily.
You will first head over the “Little Serengeti” area towards East. This is a grass plain that might surpriseyou with herds of buffalo and zebra, giraffe, antelope and other game is also a common sight there. Later on the flora changes into a mix of forest and high bush that is popular for elephants and there are good chances to spot these magnificent giants.You will pass by the most scenic place in the area, this time overlooking the Momellalakes right next to you. At clear days you can see Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru, Masailand inthe South and the ecosystem of the Momella lakes a bit further away.However hard it is to leave this place, you must press on as there is still some distance tocover. You will head through forest and bush area further north, eventually passing bythe Park-Rest house.
Your crew will await you with lunch laid out and you will get a shortglimpse into a bygone era.A beautiful trail through the forest will end at a dam and from there you will be headingalong trails that have been hacked out of dense bush and forest for the horses. The"Little Serengeti" will provide you with the picture to stay in your memories. A last bitwill bring you back to the exit gate where for sure you will be sad to say good bye to yournew horse friend that carried you safely over lots of obstacles during the last two days.
Departure:
This is where your Horse riding comes to an end but plans for the next trip evolve! Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home.
